NO SMOKING !

Our school has launched the No Smoking campaign as an initiative to reduce the number of smokers among students. Our principal smashed a giant "cigarette" as a symbol that the school hates smoking - which was pretty cool though. Here are some pictures of the day ... haha

THE YEAR OF THE TIGER

According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year
of 2010 is the Year of a Golden Tiger, which begins on
February 14, 2010 and ends on February 2, 2011

To the Chinese, it is the start of the Golden Tiger Year. The Tiger is the third sign in the cycle of Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 animal signs. It is a sign of courage. This fearless and fiery fighter is revered by the ancient Chinese as the sign that wards off the three main disasters of a household: fire, thieves and ghosts. On New Year's day itself, it is beneficial to celebrate, to be happy, to have smiling faces, and to refrain from scowling, quarreling, or criticizing anyone

Welcome 2nd intake of septech's 6th batch ! Wish you all good luck studying here !
However, no word about the orientation today. I'll update you guys as soon as there's some info !

6th batch's orientation postponed

The principal has announced that the 6th batch's orientation has been postponed for the first time. Previously, it has always been held during the first week of schooling for the Form 4 students. This is because there are about only a third of the total chosen candidates that have registered thus far.

This year the selection is more carefully done and the minimum requirements have also been raised. Only students who achieve a minimum of 6As in their PMR results are considered. This is in line with Septech's new vision of achieving a higher standard of academic achievement for the SPM examination in order to qualify for the ISO standard.

The orientation will commence once the second intake of Form 4 students have registered.

ICT/MySTL Macromedia Flash training course

Last Saturday, MPSEPANG organized a Macromedia Flash 8 training course. Members of the SSTL were privileged to attend the 1-day course.

We were taught the basics on how the software works and to produce simple animations. Initially many of use were not able to write the scripts successfully, but with much determination and interest we managed to triumph. At the end of this course, we were able to produce short movie clips and interactive flash presentation in various format such as HTML, SWF, FLV, etc.

Thank you to Puan Aisyah of MPSEPANG for your time, patience and guidance. We hope that many IT courses would be conducted in the future.
